Easter Wreath Tutorial

Hello!  It’s been a long time since I have made a post!  Almost  a year to be exact!  I got a new job and have been working alot and haven’t had time to post.  I made an Easter wreath for Easter and posted a picture on Facebook and everyone loved it so I am gonna tell you how I made it.  I found a tutorial on pinterest but I added my own flare.  You might want to do this wreath outside or somewhere where you can clean up easy because it’s gonna get messy!  The boas shed really bad when your wrapping.  Let’s get started.

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • 12 Inch Straw Frame (Keep the wrap on)
  • 3 White Feather Boas
  • Rabbit Ear Headband
  • 15 – 20 Plastic Eggs
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • White Pipe Cleaners
  • Ribbon to hang wreath

Step One

Do not take wrapper off wreath.  The straw will make a huge mess.  Foam wreath probably would have been better but the foam wreath was not as thick as I wanted it and the straw wreath had the thickness I wanted for the wreath. I started out by hot gluing the Rabbit Ears Headband to the wreath.  The headband was not cooperating and not sticking to the wreath with the hot glue so I decided to use white pipe cleaners to secure the headband.

Step Two

Take one end of the feather boa and starting at the top around the ear glue one end of the feather boa to the wreath.  Wrap the feather boa around wreath until you run out and start again with another one.  Glue the second and wrap again.  Do the third one the same way.  You should finish at the top.  Don’t glue the whole boa to wreath!  You will need to be able to move the boas around while you place eggs.  Make sure to cover up the headband on wreath.

Finished Boa around wreath.

Step 3

Lay the eggs down on the wreath where you’d like to place them.  Once you’ve decided where you’d like them to go start hot gluing the eggs to the wreath not the boas!

Step 4

Hot glue the ribbon to back of wreath for hanging.  My ribbon didn’t want to stay so I’m still looking for other ways to hang it.  Also I trimmed some of the boa so it wouldn’t stick out in places I didn’t want it to stick out from and cut some of the middle so you could tell there was a hole in the middle.  I also cut away close to some of the eggs so you could see them better.

Where did I buy my Supplies and How Much?

Rabbit Ears – $1.00 @ The Dollar Store

Feather Boas – I can’t remember the true price so I’m gonna say they each costed $6.00 @ Walmart.

Easter Eggs – $2.00 a bag @ Walmart

Straw Wreath – $6.00ish @ Walmart

Pipe Cleaners – $2.00 a bag @ Hobby Lobby (Only need two pipe cleaners)

Ribbon – $4.00 @ Walmart (Only need as much as you want for a hanger)

Hot Glue – $5.00ish for a big bag (Only need 1-2 sticks) @ Walmart

Hot Glue Gun – $5.00 @ Walmart

Thank you for stopping bye!  Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

April’s Review: New Secret Outlast Clear Gel

I have a love / hate relationship with trying new deodorant.  I have only found one deodorant that doesn’t not break me out, give me rashes, uphold its brand / name / claims what it should do or not burn.  I would love to find a different deodorant that is stylish, smells great and lasts a long time instead of my boring old deodorant I have used since I started wearing deodorant.

Available in:

  • Invisible Solid – Invisible protection you can count on.  Stay fearless and fresh with 48 hour odor protection.  Invisible protection that goes on dry.
  • Clear Gel – Show off your fearlessness without worrying about white marks.
  • Smooth Solid – Don’t be afraid to shave.  Save your skin from razor burn with protection that reduces irritation.

4 Scents:

  • Completely Clean
  • Protecting Powder
  • Sport Fresh (? Name doesn’t match)
  • Unscented

(1) Secret® Outlast™ in Active Fresh Scent 2.6 oz (full size)

$4.99 (online)

Not available near me, available online.

I love the clear see through stick.  I can see how much I have left and when I need to make a run to the store for more.  It smells amazingly great.  It smells fresh and clean and kinda reminds me of water with hints of flowers.  Maybe like after a April shower or a Rain forest.  I love it lasts or says it last for 48 hours.  It does go on wet.  If your cold oh my how its cold when you put it on your pits!  Brr!  It does take a minute or so to dry.  I don’t know if its me, my skin or what it is but it never really actually felt dry for a while.  Felt kinda like a fan blowing on your arm pits kinda but when it actually drys it feels sticky.  Not sticky sticky but when you raise your arms from your side you can feel your arms and your under arms sticking.  Its not to bad but to me I hate it.  I hate to feel sticky under there even if its just a little.  I love the way the smell lasts and lasts.  I don’t think the Gel in the stick would last long.  I’ve only used it about 3 times and its almost half way gone.  I only use two clicks each time I put it on.    Usually when I try new deodorants I usually get a really bad rash.  I haven’t developed one yet but I have had moments where it has been itchy.  I would like to try this deodorant in  the solid to see if I would get a rash and it would be less sticky?  I do love the smell of this deodorant and would consider switching brands if it didn’t give me a rash or it wasn’t sticky in the solid.

  • The design is see through
  • Smells great
  • Smell lasts
  • 48 hr. protection

  • Takes a minute or so to dry
  • Sticky
  • Itchy at times

I would totally buy this product in solid to see if the results where the same or different.  If the solid wasn’t sticky, itchy or gave me a rash I might consider switching brands.  I would also like to try the different scents to see if this Active Fresh is my favorite.
